Will We Find It Behind That Door?

Nafis Light

Where is the smile that we longed for?
Fallen so deep...unable to wake up;
So far out...couldn't even see through,
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the smile that we longed for?
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the laughter that we've been searching for?
Frowning too much...can't make a smile:
Seen too much...couldn't find the light,
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the laughter that we've been searching for?
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the light that we're hoping for?
Seen only in our delightful dreams;
Waking to only a silent life,
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the light that we're hoping for?
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the life that we're wishing for?
Under the cold rain...with one united hope;
Hands together...hearts become one with love,
Will we find it behind that door?

Where is the life that we're wishing for?
Will we find it behind that door?

With Hope and Smile,

  • Comment from author about the poem: I didn't make something new here for about two days because I didn't have access to a computer (or a laptop)...and I couldn't find any inspiration. This is what I could find today.

    Brilliant, I've walked through many doors just have to remember to leave them open so I can see where I once was. Hopefully then I'll not forget appreciation.

    Great work!

    A bit of dark humour - if feeling gloomy, cheer up; maybe it will get worse - Doh! That well-known saying, adapted here 'When one door opens, another one slams in ya face!' (heehee).
    Meanwhile - dunno if I will find it behind that door. Can't find the key to the door! lol.

      The humour makes sense. because we'll never know.
      Somehow 'Hope' is what the poem is about.
      It's unexpected, but this quote is something wise:
      "Just don't let your poems be ordinary."
      It's from Dead Poets Society.
