Feelings change over time

Primrose

And August 15th was the day we met
I hated you
You were cocky
Too confident
And you wore sunglasses
The
Whole
Darn
Time
I thought we’d never be friends
Ever

October 10th
The day I sat by you at lunch
And I noticed your eyes
I thought of telling you
How pretty
They are
But then you might think
I like you
Because obviously
I don’t

Mid-October
You asked for a ride
Home from school
I said yes
And never told my mom
She doesn’t know
About that first time

October 20th
I asked her
If it was
Okay
To give you
A ride home
She said
“Yes”
And so it started
Me falling
For you

November 8th
I asked you
On a group date
It was on our way
From school
I got up the courage to ask
And you said
“Yes”

November 10th
The first dance
We were both at

I gave you a ride
My parents almost didn’t let me

The first dance
I’ve actually danced at
You got me to dance
To an entire line dance
No one
And I mean
No one
Could do that before
But there was something
About you
That changed me

December 1st
Group date Ice skating
With you
It was the best
I fell for you more
That night

December 27th
She told you
That she liked you
You asked her out

And my heart
Hurt
It was stepped on

I thought
My chances
Were gone

January 12th
The dance
I don’t want to go
At first
I didn’t want
To see you

Something had changed
Since
I moved

She pushed me
To dance
With you

And for at least
40 minutes that night
We were together
Either talking
Or dancing with friends
But still together
I was apparently
The only
Girl
You had really talked to
That whole night

She told me
That you liked me
And I was skeptical

We slow danced
And for the first time
I was speechless
I had no words to say
I was confused
I thought you
Liked Her
You could never like me

I flirted with you
And at the end
If the night
You asked if
I wanted your phone number
But I stopped you
And with a pickup line
I got yours
And a cute profile pic
To go with it

January 21st
Ice skating
Not a group date
Just some friends
But you were there
And apparently
We were together
Most
Of the time

January 21st -the evening
I called Her
She mentioned something
You told her
But she wouldn’t
Tell me
Said you
Needed to tell me
All she’d say is
“It might break your heart a little”
And to this day
I still don’t know

March 2nd
The last time I saw you
Was January 21st
The next time I’ll see you is 14 days away
But we text
Almost every day
So that makes it
Okay
