Our Carpenter Reunion
At reunions are my people
Many cousins and grandmother too
There is no sign of regal
As we are country folk through and through
There is always plenty to eat
And many people visiting
Proud of our family
And counting all our blessings
After lunch the boys play catch
With adults looking on
And the adults smoke their cigarettes
Outside where they belong
A little trailer house
Is where we always gather
As a family of the south
With God a daily matter
At reunions we make new memories
To go with those of the past
And as we look back we see
A blessed family in fact
