Pains of the night

Akinsola Akinbiyi

The sky is clear

And the dew had dry

The breeze blew gently

On our tender skin

Dries our tears

That we shed through the night.

The sun is out

Smiling at us

To go through the day

O, please don't change your mood

And scorch our skin

To make us early weary

The sun has gone to sleep

And the stars shining bright in the sky

And the moon married to them all

Make us happy

But yet we think of the night

Are our tears over?

We go to rest

With hope it has end

Just to see

There are tears left

But there comes a time

It would be joy, when we go to rest.
