100,000,000

MendedFences27

100,000,000

You seduced me with your powers

of a hundred million favors

and held me with your sweetness

of a hundred million flavors

You loved me in your bower

of a hundred million flowers

and it seemed to last a lifetime

of a hundred million hours.

In truth, it was but moments

before we were set in showers

and poured out an ocean

of a hundred million tears

that rose on the tides

of our hundred million fears.

We were drowning in the reaches

of a hundred million creatures

hidden in our love

ready to devour.

Our hearts that once empowered

this love with faulty towers

set now, those hearts to crumbling

from a hundred million rumblings

of mistrust and misfortune.

What can save this love of ours?

So much love will last so much longer than a hundred million years.

perfectly pitched sir and without those socio-political undertones, it just wouldn't be the same now, would it... thoroughly enjoyed.... Neville
