Child

SerenWise

Tears gather in my shining eyes

But do not chance to fall,

The secrets, shame, and lies

Making a mockery of all.

They crust around my tired lids,

Weighing my lashes down,

And my emotion now forbids

Any more than just a frown.

I'm as helpless as a child

Who's abandoned in the dark,

With despondency so wild,

And melancholy stark.

I just want to feel that care

That others take for granted,

But for me is now so rare,

It is thoroughly enchanted.

Someone take me under wing,

And soothe my fevered brow,

I would gladly receive anything

Opposed to what I'm feeling now.

I can feel the pain in your poetic words, hoping that this a no more than that.
In case of otherwise, you have already started your journey to rid yourself of this pain, by taking the first step of realizing the cause.
Try to focus on one really pleasant event, and then expending that moment.
