night troubles

clair jane

confused as to why i can't sleep

confused as to why i worry constantly

confused as to why i always fear everything

confused as to why i feel like i can't trust anyone

confused as to why my mom insists i wear running shoes to school

confused as to why i struggle to love myself

confused as to why i'm uncomfortable, even laying in my bed

confused as to why i'm always alone

i fear people

i fear the night

i fear that i'll end up alone

i fear school

i fear no one understands me or my writing

i fear no one gets my pain

i fear i'm un-listened to

i fear me

Some of this, or a lot of it, is teenage fears, I think, as you find your way in life.

Fear not... it's all absolutely normal
That doesn't make it any less scary
    Great to write it out!!!
    Hey you're a poet
With a pen beyond your years keep it up

Consider the life of a Butterfly, from maggot, thru pupae to a beautiful winged thing.
You are on your way to your beautiful life, but passing through less beautiful parts is something we've all had to do. Stick with it and try your best to be as good as you are able in what you do. The future will be yours, you have as much right to it as anyone else.

I'm going to misquote from a famous piece called Desiderata by Max Ehrmann (worth a read if you google it) and this applies to every one of us human beings "for you are a child of the universe with as much right to be here as the trees and the stars".... makes you think a bit doesn't it?
