A Letter to You

sillygirl

The amount of times I have looked down on you,

Is insurmountable.

The number of times I look away,

And tell myself, “No food today!”,

Is incalculable.

You used to hide away in the corner,

Before I moved you to where I could see.

I used to get angry at you,

I told you “Get out of my sight!”.

But that was before I needed you the most.

I needed you to confirm my fears.

And you did.

And you still do.

Day after day after day.

Please leave me alone.

Please just let me be happy.

Please tell me what I want to hear.

Because I can’t take much more,

And I don’t know how much fight I have left in me.
