Whether You Win Or You Lose.

kevin browne

You take everything that you give
Defend the life that you must live
And, you hold on, hold onto what
God an emblem, Jesus his cross.

There's a belief of knowing in youth
And, lie on a limb to find out a truth
But, you discover what you've lost
Although it doesn't matter the cost.

So, you've held on to your hearts fire
But, those around you call you a liar
When this day is done I'll call for you
Smooth life over with things you'll do.

Like a baby holding a fathers thumb
Life has excitement but it turns numb
Although life can be twisted and hurt
Take off hope to live in a speck of dirt.

Shameful feelings falling from the sky
Ask a hundred questions but don't lie
Try to escape the wounds of unhealed
Build up your barrier, build up a shield.

Against your own will, together in hope
Cross over fingers to learn how to cope
But, if it's not working then work it all out
To cause a commotion when in a doubt.

Stranger things have happened to who
Look over your shoulder to tell if it's you
Come around my place to write it down
But, I'll believe in you if you can't frown.

Lift up the stirrups and jog on if you can
Trust in a faith of love and make it a plan
Pleasurable emotions decide to choose
Life is a winner whether you win or lose.

A fine write Kev. Pity it's always a 'lose-lose' situation when I sing! For me and for those I torment with it. heehee.

But, I put a wager on it that you'll never stop? Keep on rocking, Orchidee!!

We have to keep on winning and.... as we get older we do, cos we see it coming and we know "thats life".

And yes, to some we are liars, because they cant believe the smile in front of them has passed through such pain.
