True Love

True Love

I remember well my youth

And the gifts that I received

On my birthday and Christmas too

From my friends and family

And with time I learned

That I enjoyed giving as well

And it was my chief concern

That others got gifts themselves

When I went to Sunday school

I learned of God’s love too

And the great gift He gave

When He died for me and you

And as a Christian young man

I grew thankful for His love

And tried to comprehend

His gift from up above

And with family and friends

I came to realize

God’s love was the start and end

Of all our blessed lives

A lovely child-like (not child-ish) poem w c. I was age 3 when I first went to Sunday School. it didn't all 'go on from there'. I had some lapses. It seems tame though - I would go to Bingo with my Gran sometimes, instead of a weekly church meeting. ooh!

Thanks, orchidee. A friend of mine and his wife were going to bingo one evening and asked me if I\'d like to go. With reluctance, i went and won $250! My friend's wife was sooo mad! She didn\'t think i needed the money as I was single and had few bills. We ended up going out to eat, and blew most of the winnings on drinks and high-priced meals. Sad story but true.
