Neighbors Are Special
With my neighbor I fish
Just like family
And the catch gives us bliss
As we are better spiritually
Our kids are neighbors too
And go to the same fine school
Where as cheerleaders they cheer
With the same team mascot cool
And when there is time apart
We call to keep in touch
Knowing vacations are hard
When fearing burglars at home so much
With my neighbor I picnic
And the outings are exciting
With hotdog franks on sticks
On Saturdays inviting
My neighbor is a spiritual man
And we go the same little church
Where we do our best to attend
And give thanks for God’s rebirth

Thanks, orchidee.
Envious of you. Would be so good if we all had a similar familiarity and bond with those around us. Today's gadgets have encouraged society along an 'other' route i feel. I think i prefer what you have found.
Hello there, da. I believe we can enjoy new bonds as adults. Probably not so strong as a parent/child bond, but still a pleasurable experience.
