SerenWise

A scarlet sunset smiling
On the shadowed Druid's grove,
The oak's gnarled bark shining like
A piercing amber flame.

Elderflowers are all in bloom
A summer memory stirs
I'm not sure if to remember
The syrup sweetness, now bitter.

Red poppies wave and nod here
In a cool June breeze,
We don't have these up North
I think, just swaying yellow heads,
Rattling seed pods like pepper pots.

Home is oh so different now;
No longer a place, a family, a land.
Now its just the welcome sound
Of your sweet voice
On a lonely evening
While this train glides swiftly
Through yet another strange new place

A passing glimpse of where you once roamed. I love this, beautifully done and caught my heart upon your sleeve.
