They Got A Second Chance.

Tayama

Lonely rooms with stories of lost souls seeking redemption.....

Salvation is just around the corned they said,

They wait, some fight, some die,

Most just cry,

Doors close on those that dare tread,

They go inside of their minds,

Pictures of them as a child,

Who really were happy with no chains,

No overwhelming dread,

Of tasting it once more, without becoming the dead,

James crossed over, so did Stephi,

She smiles more now, tells me Im ready,

Doors open, I'll sit with you for awhile,

Focus and listen, you'll remember when you were a child,

Free of this hell, riding our bikes, ringing the bell,

Turn from the dark, to live there will only allow them to come,

Reliving the nightmare where all you can do is run,

Run to the light, we cant live in the dark anymore,

For how long did we never see the sun?

A thousand miles apart, yet I never forget the words,

It doesn't have to be this way, we were made for so much more,

Come on baby, break away and live,

Lets go to the other side naturally, our chance to forgive,

What we did matters no more,

Maybe it will snow, remember Mi amor?

  • Comment from author about the poem: Once free from the hell of addiction, you often think of those that didn't make it and those waiting for you on the other side. Also the promises made at 4am that you know you'll never keep.
