The words of the wise,
are like goads,
and the words of scholars,
are like well-driven nails,
given by one Shepard.
And further, my son,
be admonished by these.
Of making many books,
there is no end,
and much study,
is wearisome to the flesh.
Let us hear,
the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments.
For this is man's all.
For God will bring,
every work into judgement,
including every secret thing,
whether good or evil.

- Comment from author about the poem: This piece was taken from Ecclesiastes 12:11-14. King Solomon was writing during the final years of his life. King Solomon was arguably the wisest man and greatest king who had ever lived. During his last years while writing the book of Ecclesiastes, he looked back and reflected on his past life, and what eventually led to his fall as king. He realize everything he could have and should have done better. Still, throughout everything that he had done wrong, king Solomon still turned back to God. Ecclesiastes is a book about his repentance, and a warning of where going against God will take others. It was his last book written. The piece I wrote are the last four verses of the book. No matter how much you read, no matter how much you study, no matter how educated you are; in the end, the only way to live is to live for the Lord. Persistence is key
