Vacation

A passing lyric

Vacation

Clock out from work for the last time

now home to pack with a glass of wine.

Checking through my home made list

To see if anything has been missed.

Set the alarm for the early flight

take off to the sky among the clouds of white.

Touch down in another, unfamiliar place

and feel that hot air against my face.

Check into my room and turn on the fan

and it’s off to the pool to work on my tan.

Beautiful people talking beautiful sounds

and perfect strangers buying the rounds.

Shower and makeup and heels on to go

Downstairs to the crowd to sit for a show.

Then off to the strip to have a dance and a song

It all feels so right so nothing could be wrong.

One last drink at the bar and then

it’s back home for a sleep to do it all over again.
