KELLY GIRL

Thomas J. Dooley

She was five foot five every hug she gives is just a lie

She had Jasmine Guy kind of eyes

Without the same kind of style or smile

A rice and peas kind of lady

So pretty that it would drive me crazy

To the point, I couldn't express my feeling

Kelly girl

Hypocritical Christian girl

Just wanted to get her fill

But she would kiss and tell

I wish I could be her boy

I wish she could be my girl

Three years she had me hypnotized

All the time I was a friend she kept to the side

She caught my eye with her Afro-puff

Never knowing I wasn't enough

Kelly girl

Hypocritical Christian girl

Just wanted to get her fill

But she would kiss and tell

Couldn't tell her a secret to say my life

Everyone would tell me what were you thinking

Talking is what she likes

For her love was never the formula of life

It was more like a pie

She takes a slice and savors the bite

All I ever tried to do is be the spice she liked

Kelly girl

Hypocritical Christian girl

Just wanted to get her fill

But she would kiss and tell

Filled with regrets still wanting to forget

As the portrait, I drew of you

Hoping it fades with time in all the sunlight

Embarrassment is my only pain

To expose my feelings that way

Hope to never do the same

Kelly girl

Hypocritical Christian girl

Just wanted to get her fill

But she would kiss and tell
