She Says

kevin browne

She says she wants to be with me
Beside the things I do
So I said we'll have to wait and see
And to see if it's true.

She says she wants to marry soon
Until the day she dies
And float away in a hot air balloon
To blow away her cries.

She says she'd write love in the sand
Beside the things she does
Then as the ocean held out its hand
We looked back at what was.

She says she'll love me forever more
Until the day I die
So I'd put one knee down on the floor
For my loving bride.

She says she wants to take me to Italy
Beside the place I love
And now that we've found love finally
A gift from high above.

She says she'd like to paint a picture
Beside the fireplace
I sat down beside just to say I love her
Beside her smiling face.

She says as the years are rolling on
Beside an ageing heart
Looking back at the things we've done
We both played our part.

She says to me darling what will you do
Beside her 6ft grave
I said sleep tight my darling and I love you
And told her to be brave.

She stopped saying things about her and me
Beside a broken man
So I prayed a lot, wished her a goodbye plea
To come back if she can.
