The Future Spun (+8)

I took you into my arms,

to ask about tomorrow

But then you went and stole my heart,

from dreams of yesterday

Reaching deep inside my pain,

you took away the sorrow

All hurt now gone and future spun

—the present here to stay

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

Turns To Song

The words all come together,

their meaning front to back

Like birds of common feather,

they follow the same tack

Existing for each other,

alone their context gone

All strength inside their union

—where memory turns to song

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

Life's Contract

Borrow someone else’s truth…

but there’s one you need to own

Whose lease runs out as time grows short

—life’s contract yours alone

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

Reasons Sublime

Living in the present

past—future

combined

The excuses get

cornered

—reasons sublime

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

Spirit Reclaimed

Crossing Montana for the first time…

everything was changed

My heart no longer my own

—my spirit there reclaimed

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

Today

Today was all you

wanted

The past now fraught

with pain

The hurt was set,

you could not forget

What our love

could not rename

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

Freed Of Sin

Can we ever know creation,

can we ever reach the source

Can knowledge of its power,

transcend this mortal course

Can we join in transformation,

as the old is new again

Is there really a salvation

—where the truth is freed of sin

(Villanova Pennsylvania: January, 2017)

From Heaven Bought

A prisoner of devotion,

a Saint indentured pure

The light now holds him captive,

on knees bent to the floor

His silence for a jailer,

his sentence now unlocked

With handcuffs loose and falling

—their key from heaven bought

(Las Vegas Nevada: January, 2017)

Deception

The Lies about tomorrow,

define all truth today

Deceived by joy and sorrow

—all promise gone astray

(Las Vegas Nevada- January, 2017)
