That Daft Fly

Gary Edward Geraci

That daft fly annihilated

By a deftly executed swat;

Deadly and final; material soul,

One short life to animate.

That daft fly temporarily

In temporal and spatial dimension

Supports a burgeoning pesticide

Business where real mortal men and women

With immortality within their sights

Live lives to live eternally.

That daft fly, no sense of “I”

No sense of “me” thus no suffering:

No family tie,

That daft fly.

A fine write Gary. They only live 3 weeks I read somewhere.

Yes, short lived they are Orchidee. God’s diversity of creatures are absolutely astounding! Thanks for stopping by.

While we may swat one fly, or many because we can, remember that daft fly can cause havoc in one or many of us.
      Enjoyable read

Precisely, Suresh! Indeed they serve a purpose - all in His Divine Providence; nothing, in quality or quantity, that He doesn’t take delight in (Thomas Aquinas I believe). Thanks for stopping by.
