  • Comment from author about the poem: A 17T/17B Haiku - “As Aristotle would argue later, in his theory of the “four causes,” without any efficient and final causes, material causes alone cannot explain how or why matter takes certain determinate forms. Words by themselves do not make books. Authors (efficient causes) make books, of certain kinds (formal causes), for definite ends (final causes).” Socrates Children: Ancient: The 100 Greatest Philosophers by Peter Kreeft
