21 DAYS

Thomas J. Dooley

It has been too many days since I heard from you girl

Too many days since the scent of you filled the room

Photos of you and me on the shelf, they show the passing of time

Still dreaming of you and what life would be like

You're always on my mind

It has been 21 days since I saw you girl

21 days since we made regrets

21 days and I still have not forgotten you yet

In this lonely room, I hide

All my pain and lies

Thinking that is what makes me a man

By your side is what made me truly who I am

I gave it up for foolish pride

Now I sit here and cry

It has been 21 days since I held your hand

21 days since I saw your smile

21 days since I saw that twinkle in your eyes

Your image still lingers in my mind

Love is more than a physical touch

This relationship should never have started on lust

Love is two hearts beating at the same pace

It should be about the purity of the soul

But these tears leave tracks on my face

It has been 21 days since we embraced

21 days you asked me to stay

I didn't care enough to see your pain

21 days since we said a word

Should have said I love you girl
