For whatever it is,
I seek to understand;
It's not like someone today,
Who is obviously older and successful but...
...he made assumptions
based on the paper and my simplified past;
I then rectified one of them.
He was quiet about it...
Still, I hope he knows that...
...assumptions are not always true;
Assumptions do not lead to understanding
nor something that would be everlasting.

- Comment from author about the poem: I know it's not a poem (maybe because it doesn't really look like it). Let's say that I had a meeting with someone earlier. He is more experienced, older, and successful in his job...but suddenly he made assumptions about me and my family which aren't true. They are positive assumptions but still...not true. So I corrected one of them, because it would be a lie if something that is not true, becomes the truth if it was never rectified. Maybe not everyone seek or bother to understand each other...but I do my best to rectify them without conflict. Any relationship without proper understanding is...I don't accept that because many beliefs about the other (or each other) are not true.

How does he even know if his assumptions are true? That's what the yare - only assumptions. To assume can be to 'make an ASS out of yoU and ME' (the two people involved).
True, well I guess he might have taken it a bit too far when he made assumptions about my family. The assumption was very positive but I remembered and know about my family and how recent...struggles (to put it simply) where it's like, seeing/experiencing them actually suffering. So it's basically the complete opposite.
