Giving up

Mary73223

As the coffin closes on my shattered soul

this may be the only piece I will ever see

That now the world has faded from me so have my struggles

My worries, the pain, the heart ache

The happiness, the laughter, the love

How could I forget that the pain and hurt

Help illuminate the good, make the sunshine brighter

the birds chirp louder

on the good days

and on the bad I won’t give up I’ll wait for a little light to poke through the darkness

and I will dig my way back to life
