I talked to a man
He spoke of himself...with pride
out of his achievements in money, job, and career
but never talked about Love, Respect, Acknowledgement, and Understanding of others who aren't alike.
I spoke to a man
He had the beliefs that something is wrong
when people aren't growing in the world of money, job, and career
but never bothered if they were growing in Life Purposes, Love, and In Service Of Others...like they're not strong.
I had a conversation with a man
I am thankful for the conversation him
despite my differences with him and his values
because he and I support positivity, but our paths are different...as mine is Love and Laughter, but his is Financial Dream.
I said goodbye to a man
after a chat with him and a meal just for me
and despite his blessings for the future and his intention for future meetings,
I know that he and I will never truly be close, as things differ in what he wanted me to be.
Lastly, I smiled to a man
for what was exchanged, times and some Love and Understanding;
I wouldn't go with his beliefs nor with anyone else
if it means no more being a Joker, Love, Laughter...as this is My True Meaningful Thing.

With Love and Gratitude,

- Comment from author about the poem: The poem is about a conversation I had with someone from school at night at a restaurant on July 20th, 2019. He talked about his achievements which are great for him, but I heard the typical stuff like financial and career. The same thing I noticed with certain other people...which is the lack of proper understanding of others. At the same time, even though he may understand some bits of myself, he pushes his own beliefs (adding in) instead of actually acknowledging and accepting it. I am not against money nor prosperity, but there's the lack of understanding, acceptance, and love in those who focus only on those things. I accept Money and Prosperity...lovingly and gratefully if they come to me.

Thereby speaks a man who knows of value, not merely price.
A delightful and otherwise illuminating poem.....
A fine write J.
