The Gift

C.J. Knudsen

A vessel of love
Heartbeat of my soul
Her Heart is my music

Tireless nights of sleep and wonder
Wishes of hope
Packing lunches of love
And tears of worry

Fingers and arms to cradle and catch
Eyes of windows to her soul
One move of the curves on her face makes me smile and comfort my being

Beating, breathing, being
Love, light, laughter
Happiness, hope, humor
