Monster in the Mirror

haydenraquel

What was once an imaginary friend

now follows her until the end

She would never be caught

in a room too dark

Something lurked behind her

as she tried to survive this life

She only wanted to be left alone

but something was always chasing behind

She believed she was cursed

a monster she carried around like a purse

No matter the light she followed

her troubling friend still behind her

Sometimes the monster chasing you all along

is yourself
