Watch Over Me

daydreaming

A dark shadow hangs over me

It feeds on the sadness I feel

When I remember the day

When you were taken from me.

No matter how I try to lift

This load away that's killing me

I can’t ignore, I can't accept

You're not with me

God, hear my plea.

When I despair I tell myself

That I’m alone, out of control

I have the need to close my eyes

Imagine you right next to me

You hold me tight to comfort me.

I see your smile in every place

I try so hard to understand

Why you’re happy while I’m sad?

You then confess that you will cast

This aura of sadness away at last

We'll be together once again

My grief will finally come to pass.

I hear you say "let go, move on

Live each day, go real slow

You soon will learn

The things I know

We are God-like spirits

Living a human adventure

And when you’re ready

And you can think steady

You will overcome

Your human limitations

The walls you built

Will crumble down

In admiration and fascination

As you'll finally understand

The full extent of our Creation".

This cloud of sadness needs to go

I may be ready, perhaps I’m not

But for my sake, I must move on

Because I know that in the end

We'll be together once again.
