Fly Away

daydreaming

I feel so lazy; it’s Sunday night

I'm out the door to kill some time

I cruise the streets while people sleep

I just got home; I feel alright.

The city buzz was overwhelming

Can’t stand the fumes from cars and buses

The bright lights came from all directions

I waved my hands to draw attention.

Things never ever go my way

So many faces that look the same

I will do anything to see you again

Then hold your hand and fly away.

It’s Monday morning; time goes too fast

I need to get to work on time

I feel so empty and I know why

You're not with me; you said goodbye.

When I get silly, I hear you laugh

I still remember your broken smile

Your life and mine are intertwined

Why don't you come and stay awhile?

Life is not easy, it never is

But when you're with me, life is a breeze

Would you return if I say please?

If not for you, do it for me...

Sorry for the late reply. Glad you are inspired by my verses. As I always say, writing the way I feel is the best therapy I have eve had.
