Love? (Death!)

smallblackflowers

Be nice and kill me please

Save me the courtesy

It’s the ultimate gesture of your love

So strong a message it would send

To stop me seeing a natural end

That way the love won’t flicker out

Be nice and kill me please

Save me the courtesy

I guess some prefer marriage

But I don’t want to cling

To a life of Mondays just for a ring

An express train to six feet under

Be nice and kill me please

Rather than weathering those cruel seas

That way I won’t lose a thing

You could see it as a full stop

But I don’t want to set up shop

And smooth excitement’s edge

Or let’s kill time instead

Rather than knock this thing on the head

Before it becomes a hangover

Or we could just stop and forget

Then start again like we never met

And get drunk all over
