Garden

b-LAH-que

Our garden once in bloom
Is running out of room
Amongst the flourish of our love's bonfire

Once brightened in the night,
Its blossoms vibrant and so bright
Have wilted by the heat of our desire

A passion once was yearned
Sparks we whittled, warmth hence earned,
Lit fires in the visions of our dreams

Where seeds we've sown and soil turned
Becomes the place where we get burned
When warm words turn instead to gasoline

Communication is a must
Be understood, develop trust
All so we'll live happily ever after

Your voice, refreshing as a breeze
Intoxicates my mind to ease
Til I let my guard down before my attacker

Gusts from us flighty contenders
Make whirlwinds to throw the embers
Turn cries of searing pain from warming laughter

Blow hot air and fan the flame
Misunderstand, accuse and blame
Incinerate to ashes ever blacker
