Treasure Trove

woodkatie28

The world is an open book

A land full of adventures,

Full of discoveries

And to be able to enjoy

The fruit the world has to offer

We, as children have our senses

Our five senses

Touch, sight, smell,

Hearing and taste

We touch the rough

Ridges of bark around

The oak tree

We see the glittering

Gold of the sun’s rays

And smell the scented

Aromas of the flowers

We hear the rustle of

The leaves in the breeze

And taste the crispness

Of the air

We have our five senses

Our tools to unlock

This world of ours

We have these senses

To which we expand

Our knowledge

And learn things

We never knew

  • dusk arising

And we never cease learning unless we close our minds.
However, some of us are, along the way, blessed with yet another sense - common sense.

    Part-time tree hugger.

    Good write Katie.
