Copyright...Does It Matter?

Nafis Light

We make something...out of ideas
which we are grateful for
and we also call them inspirations
which help us to be better than before.

That being said,
A part of us is in every piece of our creation;
Even if a piece is taken or stolen,
it will never be true or what people call as a 'talent'.

We are Creators;
We are Inspirers;
We may be copied
but they will never be us.

With Love,

  • Comment from author about the poem: That is sorta a response to a recent survey form I filled up on 'Copyright'. I did not write that poem in that survey form, but this poem is a response about it...that people can copy stuff from another person or source, but they cannot actually be that 'It' because every person is unique and different.

    Once you publish upon here it is recorded with a date, thereby giving you copyright under common law.

    Absolutely love this, no one can copy the you that is on you!

    Well, if copying the writing, it sends folk into a mad fury! Oohh!
    I mean, in the sense of a guy copying a poem and posting it on another site, complete with his pic, bold as brass. The effrontery of it all! They rightly savaged him in comments such as 'you *******' (me ears are burning!).
    I mean, he could be getting money from other poet's efforts, etc.
