Hold Onto What.

kevin browne

To bend the light, to make it straight
For honest answers ask a question
Well behind, well gone and it's late
Feel the vibes and feel the action.

The Moon has gone, the Sun is dead
Sunburned self-inflicted to cool a beer
Motorways and madness, almost dead
Shouted yesterday and to keep it clear.

Fostering little ones to bring back life
Hold a heart in your hand, feel the beat
Choose options and then maybe a wife
Hold onto what, what's there to keep.

Forces of friction and forces galore
Place after place things running wild
Shout a bit louder, shout out for more
Bring some Sunshine, warm-up a child.

The shade has been shading, cool down
Warm up the cherish, warm-up the love
Buiding and bridges in the centre of town
Give peace love from whoever's above.

Bike rides and car wash what's the deal
Newspapers and readings from in Hell
Aeroplanes and ships can learn to feel
Pavements and shops feeling really well.

Lost down this dark alley, lost the lot
Fathers and mothers, how dear to me
It's good holding on, but hold onto what
Bananas and beaches a coconut tree.

Cameras and personalities see you later
Dump trucks and go-karts, spin the wheel
Rubix cube and Monopoly, figure a hater
Twisting and turning with orange to peel.

Granddads and soldiers pull out a gun
Fairfields and big wheels, dodgers too
Gambling and smoking lost all the fun
Givers and takers to find out who's who.

Warlords and drugs, warlords and death
Showers and gas with a hole in the wall
Temptations and working out what's best
Towers and rivers where everything falls.

A fine write Kev. Some held on to a hope that my singing would improve - but there's no hope. It can't be helped! lol.

I'm sure you're not that bad. I'd love to hear you sing and I'd probably would join in too.....!!
