Hypocritical Contradiction

Aaron Harvey

The night so dark and the air is so cold

people walking past with emptiness to hold

smiles on faces in abstract places

love is an emotion but nothing to waste

“love doesn’t hurt it kills”

But is bitter to taste

Each night when I come tired in the evening

I lay down next to an angel fall asleep

and fly with the demons

my heart will sink like many ships before

put your hand in mine

and we shall make it to shore

this silent violence that fills this sorrowful head

I’m trying to get rid of this doubt

Im trying to beat it dead

when you feel alone with me by your side

hand in hand we shall walk with pride

people in dormancy dream away

in this spiteful world I can no longer stay

I would bleed my self dry

and collect all the tears that I Cry

and blank all the people that whisper a sigh

but as long as you are happy

to you I leave this poem

and bid you goodbye
