It's Raining Somewhere Else

Tom Wood

It’s raining somewhere else

Hitting the ground, those tears

The clouds are dragging themselves

To escape from their fears

But I  have no sky to cross

Or friends to hide behind

No way to hug the stars

And truly, no love to find

Like streams, running through rocks

And breeze blowing through the trees

Eventually, I tire, I break

I fall down on my knees

So, yeah, it’s raining somewhere else

But it’s storming in my heart!

Every time I break, I swear

You tear me more apart

You feel love for another,

And I feel fresh pain

My blood, my tears, washed away

Down gutters with the rain

You took my umbrella,

And now I’m drenched

  • Comment from author about the poem: Life has been so hard recently. So, today's poem. Hoping that there's pain somewhere else, just some sort of glimmer that I'm not alone. I don't want others in pain, I just am so confused on where I am right now. Anyway, I hope that this feeds your dark poetic taste for the day :)
