sylviasearcher

Release me from my decorated cage
Turn the key and leave, without your rage
Can’t you hear me singing all through the night?
Drifting and dreaming and losing the fight

Please, won’t you look into my empty eyes
And finally see beyond your favourite disguise
I am no more here than you are dead
From all the many lies we bred

With mercy, won’t you show your love
And end this choking I’ve been dying of
You say you love me, so let it show
Some day soon, please let me go

        Envy?
        I don’t believe you,

        I do like garbage though

        • Neville

Unrequited love's pain so emotionally expressed by your poem

          • sylviasearcher

I thought this was an interesting perception at first as so often unrequited love is seen as the pain of the person who has the love, yet here the burden is shared.
