‘You are in the way of the Xbox’
You state, eyes unaverted
As I try to kiss you for the millionth time
I tried this dress on for you
I thought that you would like the way it skims me
You don’t even look.
I’m not as perfect as the pixels
Of the prostitute you drag into a bush
Fuck then kill
But I am as disposable.
I don’t know how I have ended up
Jealous of a block of metal
And plastic
That slides open its drive to receive your disk in the ink of midnight
In and out
Again
While I lie in bed alone
‘I love the Xbox more than you’
You once told me
A joke that you proved to be so true
As you built your fort so tall
Fortnite warrior
An ultimate sniper
But unreachable
‘You are in the way of the Xbox’
You say again
As you stare through me, phantom
In a new dress you’ll never get to see.
Have you ever thought that
Just maybe
That hunk of shit
might be in the way of me.
