When I Asked Her To Stop.

kevin browne

When I asked her to stop
She shouted a lot
And doesn't understand me
Or between right and wrong
But, she picked me easily.

Ya better come quick and look
Was my broken heart, she took
Do I understand a lot?
Between right and wrong
Or if I'm her boyfriend or not.

When she asked me to stop
I said I would give it a shot
But, she won't understand us
If I gave her my key
A silver lining, a golden touch.

Ya better come quick and say
She shouted out every day
That she don't understand love
After I gave her my heart
She understood a golden touch.

And when I had asked her what
She started to give what she got
When she understood love
Then she gave me a kiss
A tender hope, a gift from above.

Now that I'm half a world away
I couldn't go if I had to stay
In her heart understood what
As she sleeps silently
Believing the dreams we've got.

As long as there's that dream
Understand to know what it means
When love can fall apart
And can soon turn to dust
inside this piece of a magical heart.

Now that the nerves have faded
Time passes by as we both waited
To understand the right and wrong
As we kissed once again
And that our love had finally won.

Now whilst that I'm here alone
Sitting by my window on my own
I've discovered a diamond
And she discovered me
As our sights were heightened.

Now this story made me cry
But, at long last, I've tried
To believe in the right place
As the clock went tick-tock
We both showed eternal grace.
