Sunny Skies In California.

kevin browne

With Sunny skies in California
And an old basket full of fruit
Now to sail the sea to Europe
To spend all the bleeding loot.

It took time at the restaurant
Before we could sit and wait
And all the Lobsters you want
And now we're at Berlins gate.

Now the Russians like to dance
The largest of the market square
As their knees started to romance
Vladimir Putin ended up nowhere.

Now, my old man, he has a friend
Who drove to the countryside in Kent
And as he liked to pick some flowers
The journey back felt like 100 hours.

And when ageing Tony Blair he lent
As we all discovered what he spent
The seed was sowed upon his hill
When he made us pay for all his bills.

We ended up in these fields of gold
Where trees were looking rather old
When the branches began to break
We picked all the apples we could take.

Now back to Great Britain, UK it was
Where people ruffled round for a fuss
And the Hamlet of the London Tower
The stock market revealed its power.

So, here we are still scratching about
To find the secrets behind our doubt
But, seeing sights we never saw before
Left us begging for some bleeding more.

How can I stop when poetry is running through my veins. I'll give you another surprise tomorrow...

        • orchidee

Thanks Kev. Well, best I suppose - one poem per day. If we all posted many poems per day, we would not get round to reading all of everyone's poems.
