As Precious As You Think You Might.

kevin browne

Just like the rain in the sky
You learn in life how to fly
And when clouds cover over
Another life learned to bother.

And there's the trouble of a fear
When all you wanted was to hear
Someone to call out your name
Filled with emotions of your game.

And if you could only see yourself
Inside your loving and broken heart
You said you'd rather roam for wealth
In this life, you have to play the part.

And I can see the lies in your smile
The one you forgot to say for a while
Just like the contents of your handbag
You whistled and shouted out how sad.

But, if ever you feel lonely and vague
Take a look in your phrasebook to see
That the worst is you catch the plague
Lonely lovers who decided that will be.

I see the bags underneath your eyes
And your smile is telling crooked lies
You could be an ex-mistress of a man
A white collared fella did what he can.

There's nothing in this life being alone
Alone is a lonely place to be at home
I'd say I'd love you just like I love like none
But, still, I'd learn to love you only in one.

And as precious as you think you might
The world wraps around every lonely night
This could be the time that usually knows
Supping the hurt that lovers always shows.

And to tell you before between right and wrong
By the time you notice a change has usually gone
Then when you have listened to see what's what
You turn the page over to see what it is you lost

And the calendar never tells a lie
When speaking tongue asking why
half an hour is like a decade away
For the moment I'll be here to stay.
