Speaking with my demons

Dakota

Ya I guess it gets old.

I grab the bottle still and it’s cold.

But the liquids keep me warm.

Numb my heart numb my soul a liquid umbrella for my own shit storm.

Dakota you let me down

You wouldn’t be shit if you weren’t the nicest dude around.

If I was in your world I would have a knife to your throat.

And I would wear your skin like my coat.

I would change your whole life.

I would take what isn’t mine though you say it’s not right.

Does anyone else care what is

Does any have it in their heart to forgive.

No they don’t and I’m willing to bet.

They won’t ever forgive you but will have no problem to forget.

So take this drink empty the bottle don’t take a sip.

Reflecting on my past and I wish I could just stay.

I wish I could just press pause on my memories and laugh all day.

Would we get bored as we see our best moments on display.

Could we handle watching mistakes we already made.

Take a drink take a shot another

Until you forget how to walk until forget how to speak and you stutter.

Drink so I don’t have to feel

And I can forget about all that is real.

I forget about my health

Letting down so many it’s so sad but not as much as disappointing yourself.
