Ah, to be in love, to be forgotten too
To hold on is harder, holding onto you
And when a love story, a story of hurt
As if it's falling down beside your heart.
To drive away a feeling, feeling of not
Is always different than you've not got
If sometimes is a part of love that lost
Take a hand and treat it too as a loss.
Holding on more like a case of letting go
When time bargains offer you don't know
And lovers fall over into something new
And if there's a chance I'd still fall for you.
A chance gone by is still a love affair
A dizzy feeling that ends up so unfair
Paid by a difference of hoping that it's real
By the end of winter is a new heart to steal.
Take care, my darlings, hold each other now
Take your shelter underneath a winters snow
And if there's something that you've forgotten
When love bites while when you forget them.
And by the time she has left you behind
Try not to remember that you'll always find
By the time she has gone, she will realise
That the love affair will always tell the lies
A chance gone by is still a love affair
A dizzy feeling that ends up so unfair
Paid by a difference of hoping that it's real
By the end of winter is a new heart to steal.
A broken-hearted of a silence that you've had
And regretting of the love that made you sad
Tear away your skin to reveal that you've bled
Take carefully forever from what's in your head.
Goodbyes are never easy, never easy to let go
Then when what happens next is easier to know
Slowly building burning bridges from a cigarette
Chase that loving feeling which you'll always get.
If those sad goodbyes remember to say hello
Fall in love again when you should've let it go
And as the light flickers on and off in the dark
Then blow candles out to make a brand new start.
Freshly falling for another you can never tell
Whether you will end up in Heaven or in Hell
But, there's one thing for certain is the magic
To bring back those memories which felt like it.
A chance gone by is still a love affair
A dizzy feeling that ends up so unfair
Paid by a difference of hoping that it's real
By the end of winter is a new heart to steal.

A fine write Kevin. Oohh, I would be in love, but can I recover from these swoons, to make any progress?! Call me 'snowflake'! lol.
Okay, that snowflake I will call you. Thanks for another kind-hearted comment...
This is really you at your best Kevin. The wonder of falling in love is here and is punished by the realisation of how fickle our given/received love can be.... maybe the realisation that you are in that terrible state where you dont really like the thing you love. Then there are goodbyes and those enforced heartbreaks and recriminations... and yes self doubt.
Filled with love, pain and hope are your words here today.
You stun me, DS because of the way you delve into the innards of my writing and teach me things that I don't notice myself. I try, as we all do to write from what we have experienced and the wisdom we contain behind the hidden heart that sometimes becomes lost amongst all the emotional treasurers, the pleasures and the pain we endure. Thank you for your wisdom of knowing how to explain a poem in a way that always has a golden surprise to offer...
