A million shattered pieces of my heart

Alta H Mabin

It's been years
we hardly talk
it's easier that way
but we remember, every second of the day

Incredible pain
Constant misery
loneliness
our hearts breaking

a million shattered pieces
that could never
be glued back together
we were just not meant to be

In our hearts
we kiss
we touch
we love, till forever

you write so well on the topic of a fragmented heart.. I sincerely hope the quality of this post reflects your poetic imagination, or is historical and well healed rather than current .... All Good Things, my friend and poet

Thank you, Neville. It is historical but I still reflect on it, often. Your feedback is a breath of fresh air to me, thank you so much.

Oh there's such depth in this... It's beautifully written. I feel the loss here, the pain but I sense too that there's no regrets in what was lost. The last part resonates loudly with me right now.

        Thank you for sharing this

Your words reach into the core and I feel the sadness yet that last stanza shows that despite a past love lasts forever. An emotive read Alta.

This, beautifully written, is how lost love should be remembered.

Those were our finest days, we should honour them.
