we sat there

staring at two pink lines

so happy

so excited

we put our hands on my belly

and ever so gently caressed the space you would grow in

we were in awe of this miracle

that was given to us

after one taken away

when we found out you were a girl

we stared in amazement

"a little girl" we said

"our little june bug

our little princess"

and as i sit here and feel you kick

i swear ive never felt more love

i promise to always be there for you

i cant protect you from everything

your going to fall in love

and out of love

and get your heart broken

your gonna learn this world can be cruel

and so can people
