Led By The Light

Tune: Song 34

('Forth in thy name O Lord I go')

Ephesians 5 v.14-18

********

Awake from sleep, rise from the dead

And follow Christ, your living Head

Raised to new life by grace divine

Seeking to know His will, way fine

Christ shall give to you light, you see

And so then live circumspectly (carefully)

Not be as foolish, but as wise

Do what is pleasing in His eyes

Redeem the time, because the days

Are evil, not a moment stays

On for all time, but here, then gone

Live out your life trusting the Son

So be not unwise, understand

What the Lord's will is, by His hand (Spirit)

He shall reveal, purposefully

We shall be guided graciously

Be not drunk with wine, there excess

But serve the Lord and do Him bless

With His Spirit be filled daily

Obeying Him, true, faithfully

  • Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. metre. I don't know why it has this tune name, and not Song 33 or Song 35!

ANGELA HERE (9:30pm Tuesday) Thanks for uplifting ! Lovely Hymn & Tune ! EPHESIANS is one of our favourite Epistles - very Spiritual & Practical ! Becuse of my Beloved Papas profession I smile at Pauls advice about wine ! *Take a little wine to calm your tummy - BUT - Dont get DRUNK ! Brian & I love WINE - BUT - because of our Testimony - never get Drunk. Many of our Evangelical Friends are TT but for us that would be *A Fridge too Far !* Thanks for sharing.

Blessings and Joy for You & Carefree Cur
Love in the SPIRIT Angela & Brian

Thanks B&A. 'Tis why I have to come along, and add water to wine, sherry, etc. though they will shoot me for it!
