Days Of Reflection.

kevin browne

To remember the beginning, to let go of the past
To remember who's who and to make our life last
When letting go of something, when you held on
To resemblance a balance and learn what's gone.

Revealing shadows in the darkness, when it shows
Higher forms on introduction to learning how it goes
And where there is a life, a heartbeat and its love
And brightness beckons in, the gravity too much.

Those were the days if everything seemed alright
And those other days of reflection through the night
Where the creeps crawl around and you can't sleep
Tears on your pillows, tears over you when you weep.

With clenched fists of rage, with devil spears
Can you see me, I can see through the fears
Looking up to the bright blue, a glimpse of Sun
Five fingers crossed, five new fingers have won.

Dealing with you is when familiarity breeds contempt
Dealing in pain, feeling some love is what was meant
Every footstep took another one's loss, lost all alone
Don't regret what you say, don't' forget you're not alone.

Chirpy and cheeky sit side by side
Happiness blossoms far and wide
An unhappy face from ear to ear
Can't we just love from year to year?

This speaks to me of addressing a newish lover who like you has been around the block a few times. All that garbage we all carry encourages doubt, encourages letting go when letting go is the last thing we want to do.
"Can't we just love from year to year?" yes of course we can but with the same partner or not?

In response to whoever is around you whether good, bad or evil there must be a nugget of gold hiding away somewhere in their soul. Love forever, my friend because it along with comes the enlightenment towards a person's life. Thanks again for showing concern and commenting on my poetry.
