I went to war with myself for you
The casualties were publicly listed as 1
Here lies She, mother to none
They say we fight wars for good causes
My war was fought to be The One
My war was for a good cause
I tell myself as I scrub the stain
But, alas, the casualty was in vain.

A tale of battle lost but fought hard to retain being the One - -what a unique way of describing betrayal dear Clara.......... a compelling read.
Hi Fay, thank you very kindly indeed!
sad fight to lose but the resurrection makes it all worth it!
Oh I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. Thank you for reading and commenting.
Sometimes that war just can't be resisted and oh boy do we pay the price. But all along the allies (your brain) was shouting no no no!
Well, good argument for being a bit wiser next time and being prepared to NOT take the risk.... but sadly that's far easier said than done... i have the scars to prove it.
Nicely written with wry finale.
Hi DA,
Thank you for reading and commenting. Sometimes finding the power to resist is the hardest battle of all.
