your soul, a snowflake
delicate, exquisite
a quiet presence
fell ever so softly
into my blazing life
and softened the heat
and as the cold
drifted into the fire
you melted
i collected your drops
and slid you into the ground
where the lilac tree
was in near bloom
and the blossoms
fought into life
brighter for the first time
to provide the same cold warmth
you gave to me
