Oh, Night, What a Wonder

Nicholas Browning

Oh, Night, what a wonder.

The shroud that covets thee,

Has also covered me.

Oh, night, please; grant release -

Such sweet aroma, the lunar blossoms bestow,

Atop frigid bone-marred peaks and atop this rigid nose.

If not for the sake of knowing, who would ever choose to go?

Oh, Night, what a wonder.

Oh, Solitude, what a wonder.

The melody that bolsters thee,

Has also embraced me.

Oh, solitude, please, beckon belief -

Tantalizing silence, thy garments all gone awry,

Laden gardens of creation emptied; numerous flasks, now withered dry.

If not for thy forsaken tale, would thee have cherished mine?

Oh, Solitude, what a wonder.

  • Comment from author about the poem: The representation of emotion that one may freely articulate is astonishing. Hope you guys are well. If you enjoyed, then I am relieved. Image with the poem is one of the cover images for an anime titled "5 centimeters per second". The song with the poem is just a good mellow tune. Listen if you'd like.
