Sun Broke Ice

ZoeKolinsky

Day light is burning.

I ran the finish line to my quest,

answers heavy under rocks and derby.

I wrestled for along time to dig them up, shed sweat,

Frustration.

Anticipation.

But there was no way around it, pushing and shoving didn’t work;

Kicking and pulling made things worse.

So I pondered, for what felt like  an eternity.

Then, sun broke ice. Uncovering the root,

Of all this. I beckoned the trail. Feet slippy and uncertain.

‘Here rests the entwined consciousness of our souls’.

The line was in clear vision.
